The problem

The previous webshop was lacking the needs of the user. Finding the right product without having the feeling of being in a maze was a big challenge. Especially new users were struggling with the overwhelming amount of products.

The solution

A brand new webshop where optimizing the user experience to increase the conversion rate was considered the highest priority. Searching and buying products with ease served by a smooth and clean interface.

Defining the problems 

First, the current website was thoroughly analyzed. I used my expertise and experience to identify what could be improved on the website. Together with the data and visitor flows, a new plan was then drafted in combination with the new requirements and wishes.

Rearranging

The performed analysis uncovered an important issue. The classification of the products had to be looked at critically. It was a very time-consuming task to find the right product for customers. By starting at the core of the problem, we were able to work from there.

Merge it all together

After collecting all little pieces of the puzzle I started putting them together. Several iterations later, the important pages had been worked out.  Especially the product page and the checkout got a lot of attention. And of course, there were good reasons for that!

Let's make it sparkle

The visual guidelines needed a new approach.  With vivid colors, a pleasant readable font and a user-friendly designed interface, the website was given a more modern vibe.

Mobile sharpness

Just like any website nowadays, maximizing the conversion rate on mobile devices is extremely important. Our goal was to give the users the best experience possible.

Optimizing

After looking at the data and talking to customers, it became clear that a lot of people were having a hard time filtering the results on the webshop. Fortunately, this challenge was more or less familiar to us. Due to technical reasons, this feature was postponed after releasing the webshop.

Learnings

A note to myself: it's always a process.

Finding a solution for the ultimate user experience takes time. Sometimes it just takes several steps to optimize the flow. And that's fine.
